Dear RAD Ballet Students and Parents,
RE: Royal Academy of Dance Graded Ballet Exams (Beijng: Sunday Oct 10th , 2010)
We are pleased to advise that we have received confirmation that there will be external exams held DanZ Centre Beijing on Sunday October 10th , 2010.
We would strongly encourage most of our students to participate in these exams for several reasons:
1) These are accredited exams that will give external validation to the level of dance that you have achieved and accepted internationally.
2) Above a certain level, RAD exams can be used towards high school credit for university entrance application.
3) The experience of preparation and participating in an examination will help towards character building.
Registration and payment for these exams must be received by DanZ Centre by June 15th , 2010.
Please note that as condition of us accepting your child for examination, the following attached terms should be observed. Also, as the exams are right after the long summer holidays, we would strongly encourage the students to take up (on optional basis) two refresher courses (2 hours per day) to be held during the holiday periods at the following times:
August 9 – 13th (inclusive) – RMB 1000 for 10 hours
October 4 – 8th (inclusive) – RMB 1000 for 10 hours
Availability of courses will be subject to sufficient student sign up. As many of our students are from different schools, partial days will be allowed if the refresher course clashes with normal school hours.
In addition, we will also be building in an extra 1 – 2 hours per week (depending on level) of classes when the students start normal classes starting week of August 9th until the exam. This will be mandatory.
If you are interested to register for these exams, please sign and return the application form back to us, together with the appropriate payment, as soon as possible but by no later than June 15th , 2010.

TERMS OF RAD EXAM APPLICATION
1) Registration will be accepted once a copy of valid passport is given. Please underline surname so that there is no mistake on the certificate.
2) A fee will be charged in case of amendment of certificate once issued.
3) The child should attend all normal classes and preferably sign up for refresher classes. There will be no make up lesson for absences.
4) There will be no entries accepted after the closing date. (June 15th , 2010)
5) A refund of 10% of fee the will only be considered in the case of illness and on written application to the examination centre, accompanied by the doctor’s certificate. The certificate must be received by examination date or the candidate will forfeit the fees. No refund will be processed until after the entire examination session.
6) Proper attire and dress code to be observed. No earrings, watches or jewellery should be worn into the examination studio. Only recommended uniform by the academy should be worn. Elastic or ribbon should be firmly sewn on shoe in the correct position and securely fastened before entering the studio. Hair should be neatly groomed and appropriately styled off the head and neck in order that the line of the head and neck is not obscured.
7) We regret that in the case your child suffers a physical problem before the examination date which may affect their ability to satisfy the requirement of classical ballet, he/she may not be entered for examination. In this situation, we will endeavour to receive a 10% refund for the examination fees paid subject to doctor’s certificate received before examination date. Refresher course fee paid unfortunately cannot be refunded. However under this unusual circumstance, DanZ Centre will allow the remaining unused paid fees to be used for dance classes to be undertaken in the next semester.
